A meeting was held to discuss updates to legislation in the field of veterinary medicine.
Discussed the European Integration Draft Law on Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Harmonisation of Regulations in the Field of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Welfare with European Union Legislation

One of the important issues discussed was the use of medicines for small domestic animals. The draft new law provides for the development of a regulatory act (Order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy) which will define:
🔹 a list of cases where it is permitted to use medicines registered for humans to treat non-productive animals;
🔹 a list of cases where the use of veterinary drugs outside their registration is permissible for productive animals.
✅ Following the meeting, it was agreed that the Veterinary Alliance would prepare a draft document on the use of ‘human’ drugs for small domestic animals and would also coordinate its position with relevant livestock associations on the treatment of productive animals.
The meeting also discussed issues of regulation of registration, import, wholesale and retail trade in veterinary medicinal products and rules for their use.
