This meeting is dedicated to discussing the update of veterinary legislation in Ukraine.

The Veterinary Alliance was represented by Inna Markus, Head of Advocacy, and Rob Kelly, Senior Vice President of MSD Animal Health Europe. Representatives of the EU Delegation to Ukraine and the US and German Embassies in Ukraine were also present.
Key topics of the meeting included:

• the timeframe for adopting the law;

• the development and adoption of subordinate legislation;

• the importance of involving European experts in the preparation of subordinate legislation.

Building a legislative framework in line with EU standards is always a challenging task, but ensuring its effective implementation in practice is even more difficult. Uninterrupted supply to the market and availability of veterinary medicines are critical to ensuring animal health and welfare, as well as the production of high-quality food products.

Only by combining the efforts of business and the state can we ensure the development of the industry and the implementation of EU rules in Ukraine.
