Law No. 1206, adopted in February 2021, will also come into effect on 1 September 2025. This regulatory act aims to harmonise Ukrainian legislation in the field of veterinary medicine with European standards.

Its primary objectives are to ensure effective animal health control, to regulate the use of antibiotics in veterinary medicine and to improve the quality of food products of animal origin.

These changes are an important step on the way to the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU, with a view to strengthening Ukraine's export opportunities and raising food safety standards for consumers. Ukrainian farmers and veterinarians will be able to adopt European practices, contributing to the development of the livestock industry and ensuring the compliance of products with international standards.
